PHSE
At St. Nicholas Church School we provide children with a safe and inclusive environment which facilitates the discussion of a wide range of themes and relevant issues. These are set out in the Jigsaw Programme for PHSE. Children are encouraged to develop their own opinions and beliefs, to challenge stereotypes and to feel empowered to engage confidently in dialogue and debate.
A carefully mapped out curriculum means children of all ages are equipped with skills that enable them to communicate about their physical and mental health, recognise and sustain healthy, respectful relationships and to develop strategies to deal with many transitions that they will face in a rapidly changing and diverse world.

The table below gives the learning theme of each of the six Puzzles (units) and these are taught across the school; the learning deepens and broadens every year.
