History Curriculum
At St Nicholas, we use the Kapow Primary Scheme to ensure our children experience a broad range of topics throughout their time in primary school.

What is a monarch? (Year 2)
What did the Ancient Egyptians believe? (Year 3)
Why did the Romans settle in Britain? (Year 4)
What did the Greeks ever do for us? (Year 5)
What was the impact of WW2 on the people of Britain? (Year 6)
In Reception, we follow the EYFS framework. Understanding the world involves guiding children to make sense of their physical world and their community. The frequency and range of children’s personal experiences increases their knowledge and sense of the world around them.
History Enrichment
We offer a wide range of experiences, visitors and trips which allow our children to be immersed in their historical learning. These opportunities enrich our children’s learning ensuring they develop a secure knowledge of their topics.
